Gardens by The Bay

Gardens  By The Bay is one of the most beautiful parks in Singapore, visited by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2012. The garden within a city or city within a garden has been a phenomenon successful. My family and I took a day off to visit the attraction. It was well worth it!

As soon as I enter into the Cloud Dome, I was instantly overwhelmed by the beautiful cascading waterfall. My photographs do not do any justice to how beautiful the dome is.

A long awaited family photograph which holds very dear to my father's heart.

Take the lift to the highest floor to admire the view towards Marina Bay Sands and a slow walk down the suspended bridge.

Interesting sculptures

One of my favourite species in the dome.

Entrance to the Flower Dome.

The Flower Dome exhibits more species of plants within its natural habitat.

It was Christmas season. Hence the reindeer decorations.

Do you see a vehicle? I have missed it until my mother pointed this out to me.

Interesting fact?

This plant made headlines in the news as it received several complains. Now why would anyone do such a thing?

Kuala Lumpur 2013

2013 was a hectic year. My girlfriends and I decided to take a short break to Genting and Kuala Lumpur. Though short, we have decided to go for a touch of the luxury.

A personal pick-up from our homes through Tuas to Genting. We had a fantastic stop over along the way. A heart-warming lunch to fill our stomachs and the famous durian store. We came at the right season. The aroma was in the air. It is quintessentially South East Asian, an acquired delicacy.

Finally arriving in Genting. Most have dispersed into the casino whilst a few of us went shopping and massage. The weather was cool. The last time my parents took me to Genting was when I was about seven. Soon it was dinner, courtesy of my girlfriend.

The next morning, we had a personal pick-up down to Kuala Lumpur. A must visit to Petronas Twin Tower.

On the suspended skybridge connecting Tower 1 and Tower 2. This is truly an amazing architecture.

Looking at KLCC from Observation deck

We had the luxury of staying on The Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The hotel graced by many celebrities and royals. Not only was it elegant, the service was impeccable. We were escorted to our rooms immediately after check-in. The beautifully appointed rooms were spacious. The views, overlooking KLCC garden and twin towers.

Most of the hotel guests were very well dressed even the service staff were incredibly groomed. I always thought MO has one of the best uniforms for their service staff. First impression counts.

Plentiful of mirror in the bathroom. A girl's dream.

I took my girlfriends to my usual diner, Umai-Yu in Suria where we had a hearty meal. Afterwhich, we  managed to steal a night cap in the lobby before turning in.

The Lounge is beautiful with oversized sofa

Breakfast at Mosiac was fantastic. We were spoilt for choice. Again the service staff were great. I have nothing but compliments for MO in KL. I shall look forward to my next trip to KLCC.
